Train with us in your journey to licensure and beyond
Are you an AMFT, ASW, PCC in California looking for practice home to see clients via telehealth or in person? This private practice incubator might be the place for you. Supervised by Corrie Varga and in collaborative learning with the team, you'll be supported here to create a meaningful work life that is values-aligned during these destabilizing times. We are grounded in Liberation Psychology, trauma-informed, feminist, somatic, mindfulness-based, systemic, transpersonal and psychodynamic care. You get to bring your unique way of holding the role of therapist here and explore the modalities that inspire you.
We are currently accepting applications for one opening in Summer or Fall 2026.
Some nuts and bolts of this private-practice incubator...
Associate therapists are W2 employees living in California who are paid on commission at a percentage of their client fees. Associates are provided one hour of weekly individual supervision, attend group supervision on Mondays from 2-4pm, and periodic trainings to support your clinical and professional development. You can bring clients from a previous clinic or practice with you here and your clients can follow you into your own practice after licensure. With support in learning how to build and maintain a private practice, you'll be responsible for growing your care load and generating referrals through having a website, marketing and networking. We primarily work with adults and TAY, individuals, couples, and relationship groups. Corrie is not able to supervise for individual child clients who are under 16.
Our group practice functions within dual frameworks of healing and service. We intend to upend forms of oppression on individual, clinical and systemic levels that are based in separation, coercion, and greed in service of healing the whole. Our goal is to prepare you for a career that can sustain you long-term in your personal growth and wellness as much as it is our intention to accompany our clients on their therapy journeys. We value staying within capacity as best we are able.
Send Corrie an email to apply with a cover letter and resume.
Please briefly include the following information in your cover letter:
-
what you hope to experience during Associateship and any post-licensure career goals (its okay if you're still figuring it out!)
-
what draws you to this private practice and/or working with Corrie
-
your experience or capacity to work on a racially and gender-diverse team
-
your experience or interest in becoming a small business owner (this is a big aspect of working in private practice that we often don’t consider when we are drawn to healing work and most of us haven't received business-management training; and it is emotionally complex for those of us who actively disagree with oppressions supported by late-stage capitalism)
-
let us know how many weekly clients you'll be bringing with you and an average weekly fees that those client bring in. Applicants for the Summer 2026 position must be able to bring at least 3 weekly clients with them to the practice and average a total of at least $300 in those client fees per week to be considered. If you don't have clients yet, let us know you will be building a careload from the ground up and you can still apply to be considered for our next opening in 2027.
